Banbury UK WWTP: 200 l/hr Polymer Saved on Belt Press

Home 9 Case Studies and Results 9 Banbury UK WWTP: 200 l/hr Polymer Saved on Belt Press
Key results
200 l/hr polymer saved
18% cake solids maintained
Instant floc response

Case Study from HYDROPATH

The Challenges

  • Floc unstable when polymer dosing was reduced
  • High polymer dosing required to hold stability
  • Risk of floc breakdown at lower dosing
  • Belt press operation became unstable

The Solution

One HydroFLOW® i120 unit was fitted to the sludge feed pipe and tested across stepwise dosing reductions on the belt press. The signal improves floc stability, so the dewatering process holds at reduced polymer dosing, with floc breaking down rapidly when the unit is switched off.

Key Outcomes

R

Stable operation at 745 l/hr reduced dosing

R

Floc broke down rapidly when unit turned off

R

Cake solids maintained at reduced dosing

R

Stable floc held over a wider dosing range
