Case Study from HydroFLOW Tunisia
Villa water treatment at a high-end property in Tunisia had two jobs: protect the domestic system from limescale and cut the chemicals the private swimming pool relied on. The villa uses both potable and well water, and alternating between the two increased the limescale risk to the plumbing and the combination boiler. The pool depended on regular chemical treatment, and flocculants added to the operating cost. A HydroFLOW® Pearl was installed before the boiler feeds and a HydroFLOW® K40 on the pool circulation system. Pool chemical use fell by nearly 40%, flocculants were eliminated completely, and the client observed better pool water quality.
The Challenge
- Villa water treatment had to cover the domestic network, a combination boiler and a private pool
- Alternating between potable and well water increased the limescale risk
- The pool relied heavily on regular chemical treatment
- Flocculant use added to operating costs
- The domestic water system needed protecting from limescale
The Solution
-
- Units installed: one HydroFLOW® Pearl and one HydroFLOW® K40
- Installation point: Pearl on the main cold-water feed before the boiler feeds; K40 on the pool circulation system
- Water: potable and well water, used alternately
- Pool treatment: K40 fitted to improve physical flocculation
The villa water treatment was split by job. The Pearl sits on the main cold-water feed, before the boiler feeds, so the domestic network and the combination boiler are covered whichever water source is in use. The K40 was fitted on the pool circulation system to improve physical flocculation, and with it in place the chemical flocculants were stopped and the other pool chemicals were cut back.
