Lower maintenance costs

Case Study from HydroFLOW Italy

The Challenge

  • Water hardness of approximately 840 ppm CaCO₃
  • Scaling risk to RO membranes
  • Chemical dosing required for control
  • Risk to pipes, tanks and equipment

The Solution

One HydroFLOW® iCustom 16″ unit was installed in May 2023 on the 400 mm main delivery pipe of the potabilization plant treating Elsa River water. The signal disrupts the conditions that bond scale to surfaces, protecting the plant from encrustations at around 840 ppm CaCO₃ hardness.

Key Outcomes

R

Reduced encrustation across the system

R

Lower use of flocculants and antiscalants

R

RO membrane performance improved

R

No additional softening required

Independent Verification

All results in this study were measured and verified by third-party facilities managers and technical staff.
