One HM120 unit was fitted to the seawater inlet pipe about 10 metres from the fresh water generator in January 2014. The signal disrupts the conditions that bond scale to surfaces, so the FWG ran 18 months at full output with no cleaning or chemicals.
A fresh water generator on the vessel Churashima stopped chemical dosing while holding 15 t/day output with a HydroFLOW HM unit.
MV Detroit Express cut fresh water generator CIP cleaning 86% and dropped chemicals with a HydroFLOW HM-100 unit.
