Sustainability shouldn’t stop at the product. Hydropath rebuilt its packaging from the ground up — plastic-free, fully recyclable and UK-made — and the work was featured in Print 4’s ESG report.
Packaging that reflects our values
Hydropath’s commitment to sustainability runs through the chemical-free technology, the low-energy product design — and, increasingly, the materials and partners behind every unit. When it came time to rethink packaging, the brief was clear: eliminate plastic, reduce waste, cut emissions, and still deliver a durable, premium unboxing experience.
The previous packaging relied on foam inserts, magnets and pre-assembled boxes that were hard to recycle and inefficient to ship. The goal was a smarter, greener system — without compromising protection or finish.

From concept to creation
Working with packaging specialist Print 4 Ltd through multiple design iterations and testing, Hydropath arrived at a system that is fully recyclable and plastic-free, collapsible for efficient shipping, premium in look and feel, easy to assemble for fulfilment, and durable enough to protect sensitive components.
The innovations that made the difference
- ★Sustainable materialsFoam inserts replaced with recyclable, high-strength materials; lamination removed, with a premium finish preserved using carbon-captured paper and eco-ink.
- ★Collapsible designA flat-pack structure cut transport volume, reducing shipping emissions and warehouse space.
- ★Onshored productionManufacturing moved from overseas to the UK, supporting local industry and reducing shipping emissions.
- ★Certified and consciousFSC®-certified materials, with the packaging partner’s own environmental commitments behind them.
This new packaging is everything we hoped for. It represents our values — sustainability, quality and innovation — in a way that’s both practical and beautiful.— Alonit Stefanini Wainwright, Managing Director, Hydropath
Why sustainable packaging matters
For Hydropath, sustainability is embedded rather than bolted on — from chemical-free water treatment to low-energy product design. The packaging redesign is another step in the company’s ESG journey, aligning operations with values and setting a higher standard for responsible manufacturing in the water treatment sector. The work featured in Print 4’s 2023–2024 ESG report.
