Case Study from HYDROPATH Asia
A large site water treatment rollout across a theme park
A large site water treatment rollout was needed at a Hong Kong theme park with two on-site hotels, where scale affected almost every water system it ran. The problem reached the chiller plant condenser tubes, pools and fountains, thermostatic mixing valves, heat pumps and kitchen steamers, which needed long shutdowns for maintenance. Chemical consumption across the estate was high, and O&M costs for the pools and fountains needed bringing under control. More than 35 HydroFLOW® units were installed across the park and both hotels. Chemical use and maintenance fell across the board, and kitchen steamer shutdowns were shortened.
The Challenges
- A large site water treatment rollout had to cover chillers, pools, fountains, TMVs, heat pumps and kitchens
- Condenser tubes had to stay free of scale
- Chemical consumption across the estate had to be reduced
- Pool and fountain O&M costs needed control
- Kitchen steamers required long maintenance shutdowns
The Solution
- Units installed: more than 35 HydroFLOW® units
- Installation point: theme park and its two on-site hotels
- System: chiller plant, pools, fountains, TMVs, heat pumps and kitchen equipment
One technology was applied to every system in the large site water treatment rollout, from the chiller plant and pools to the thermostatic mixing valves and kitchen steamers. The signal disrupts the conditions that bond scale to surfaces, so condenser tubes stayed clean, chemical use fell, and pool and fountain O&M costs came down. Kitchen steamer maintenance shutdowns were shortened.
