Case Study from HydroFLOW Ukraine

The Challenges

  • Hard calcite deposits up to 12mm thick
  • Sludge, biofilm and putrefactive odour
  • Snails found inside heat exchange tubes
  • Frequent cleaning as performance deteriorated

The Solution

Two HydroFLOW® Industrial units were fitted to 108mm cooling water supply pipes upstream of the distillate coolers, with monitoring from December 2019 to March 2020. The signal disrupts the conditions that bond scale to surfaces, softening hard carbonate deposits.

Key Outcomes

R

Carbonates in hard deposits fell 63.9% to 17.5%

R

No new scale on control beacons

R

Biological fouling removed during the trial

R

Hard calcite became brittle and removable

Independent Verification

All results in this study were measured and verified by third-party facilities managers and technical staff.
