The Challenge

  • Pump impellers became blocked by heavy scale deposits

The Solution

A HydroFLOW® Custom 200mm unit was installed on 1 August 2012 on the flexible pipeline between the underground pump and mine entrance, around 350m from the pump, protecting a 700m pipeline with 90m of vertical lift. The signal disrupts the conditions that bond scale to surfaces, so minerals form powder-like suspended crystals instead of hard scale.
